What the campaign collects
If you volunteer, request a sign or ask a question, the campaign may collect your name, email address, phone number, neighbourhood or postal code, sign-delivery address, availability, volunteer interests and anything you choose to include in a message. If you make or intend to make a contribution, the campaign also collects and keeps your full name, residential and mailing addresses, eligibility confirmations, declared earlier contributions, intended amount, payment method and transaction records required by B.C. election law.
How the information is used
Information is used to respond to you, organize volunteers, deliver signs, match contribution forms to campaign bank deposits, handle contributions, keep the records required by law and protect the website from abuse. Campaign updates are sent only when you separately choose to receive them.
Analytics
The campaign counts page visits to learn which pages are useful and whether the site is working properly. It also counts completed actions such as volunteer forms and campaign contact clicks, with the campaign referral tags attached to those visits. These counts do not create advertising profiles or record the contents of other websites you visit.
Who handles the information
Access is limited to Ben and authorized campaign workers who need it for a campaign purpose. Hosting, email, analytics and payment providers process information only to provide those services. Information is not sold, rented or disclosed for another organization's marketing.
Required election disclosure
All contributions are reported as required by election law. If your contributions total $100 or more, Elections BC publishes your name and contribution amount, but not your mailing or residential address. Local election contributions do not qualify for income tax receipts. Read the Elections BC contribution rules.
Retention and security
Volunteer information is reviewed after the campaign and deleted or anonymized when it is no longer needed. Contribution and financial records are retained for the period required by election law and may not be deleted on request while that duty applies. The campaign uses restricted access, server-side validation and protective website controls, but no online system can promise absolute security.
Your choices
You may ask what information the campaign holds about you, correct it, withdraw optional campaign-update consent, or request deletion where the campaign is not legally required to retain it.
